Non-Profit Organization Silver Spoons Launch Officially Announced

written by Justin

Silver Spoons is a newly launched not for profit, 501(c)3 registered organization in Honolulu, HI. It was founded by the Ihara Team and the Complete Solution (TM). With Julie Ihara, Dan Ihara and Steven Arakawa at the helm, it is expected that they will be able to make a real difference in supporting Kupuna in need, which is their mission. Full details about the organization can be obtained at http://www.silverspoons.org/.

“Come join us for an evening full of cocktails, dinner, and celebration as we raise funds to kick off the launch of Silver Spoons,” says Executive Director Steven Arakawa himself. “Silver Spoons is dedicated to serving Hawaii’s Kupuna in need. Helping them age well wherever they live, enhancing their lives physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Proceeds raised at this event will be used to support Kupuna in need for 2018, thus making a difference in each life we touch.”

The event will take place on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5pm until 9pm HST. It will be hosted at Artistry Honolulu, located at 461 Cooke Street, Honolulu, HI 96813. Those interested in attending the event can book tickets through https://www.eventbrite.com/e/silver-spoons-launch-fundraiser-tickets-37767503620. The event is already proving to be very popular and while tickets remain available at all price points, they are selling out very rapidly.

Silver Spoons has been established by the Ihara Team Hawaii. They have been one of Hawaii’s top 100 real estate professionals for ten years running, according to the Hawaii Business Magazine. Their focus is particularly in helping senior citizens declutter their properties ready for sale, and in helping them find appropriate properties for their old age. Essentially, they want to ensure that everyone can age in comfort, safety, and dignity, enjoying the fruits of their labors.

Dan Ihara, co-owner and founder of the Ihara Team, with website at https://www.iharateamhawaii.com/, explains: “It’s the high level of service we provide that helps us stand out. We aim to honor God with the highest level of competency, care and compassion with uncompromising integrity. By starting Silver Spoons, we ensure that we can do so on a charitable basis as well.”

Sustainable Local Healthcare: Hospital For Hope

written by Anna Hetzel

Access to affordable and decent healthcare is critical to any community. Having good doctors, medications, and services on hand increases the overall health and quality of life. In many rural communities locals have to spend much of their salary and time to get to the nearest hospital, even though there’s a chance they won’t even receive treatment.

In India about 60% of the population live in rural areas, and access to adequate health care is very limited. In fact 50% of all villagers have no access at all to healthcare. Many diseases contracted are preventable. In Jharkhand, India the issue is even more acute, which lead the organization Hospital For Hope to open a local hospital focusing on care and treatment of preventable diseases such as malaria, dysentery, typhoid, and tuberculosis.

Partnering with the local NGO Jahriti Vihara, Hospital For Hope is working to develop a sustainable, accessible healthcare system. By working closely with Jahriti Vihara, the Hospital is able to get straight to work on the ground, reaching out to the community and offering exceptional health care.

2015 was a year of growth for them. They were able to install solar panels, which ensured around-the-clock electricity for the hospital. Along with sustainable electricity, the hospital installed a medications refigerator, keeping medicine at the appropriate temperature for maximum efficacy. They also are working to install an ambulance service to even better serve the Jharkhand community.

This growth is just the beginning, and Hospital For Hope, a registered 501(c)3 charity organization, is providing the local community in India exactly what they need: a well run functioning hospital. By donating to the hospital you are helping to train health professionals, develop more facilities in rural India, promote health education, and help develop health policy in local villages.

Donate here to promote local, sustainable health initiative in rural India!

International Charities Need Your Help Abolishing the Annual Massacre of Spanish Greyhounds

written by Natalie Lynn

For greyhounds in Spain, the end of hunting season in late February doesn’t mean time for play, but instead marks the end to their short, sad lives. Animal rights organizations have aptly-named this yearly occurrence the “greyhound holocaust,” where 50,000 greyhounds are either brutally killed or abandoned each year by owners who no longer need them for hunting purposes. But international charities are attempting to make a permanent stop to this unbelievably cruel behavior; calling on you to help save the lives of these intelligent, lovable hunting dogs.
